Branch of Folklore was set up separately from the musical department of the Palace and a folklore studio was established, which gave a new and quick wave to the folk music and its promotion.

The goal of the studio is to get young people familiarize with the genuine art and pass onto them national wisdom flowing from the ancestors and separate it from the pseudo-folk samples. Famous Georgian singer and bandmaster Temur Qevkhishvili is head of the studio.

Children study how to play on different folk musical instruments, songs and dances, particularly, we have different song and dance ensembles "Kavkasioni," "Kesane," folk musical instrument ensemble "Saunje," boys's ensemble "Dariali," "Alioni," "Mirangula," and "Mertskhali."

Annually we hold solo and group ensemble concerts where our children play, sing and dance grouped by their age.
